Forecast of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) production capacity and analysis of industry competition pattern in China in 2023

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), also known as teflon, Teflon, Teflon, Teflon, F4, etc. PTFE has excellent performance and can be used for a long time at -180 ~ 260ºC. Due to its excellent high and low temperature resistance and chemical stability, good electrical insulation properties, non-adhesion, weather resistance, flame retardant and good self-lubrication characteristics, PTFE has been widely used in chemical industry, petroleum, textile, electronics and electrical, medical, machinery and aerospace and other fields.

In recent years, China's teflon production capacity has continued to grow. From 2016 to 2021, China's PTFE production capacity increased from 116,600 tons to 188,000 tons, with a compound annual growth rate of 10.14% during the period. In 2021, China's PTFE production capacity increased by 24.83% year on year, accounting for 60.84% of the global PTFE production capacity. It is expected that China's PTFE production capacity will reach 228,100 tons/year in 2023.

In 2021, the global PTFE production capacity was about 309,900 tons/year, of which China's PTFE production capacity was about 188,800 tons/year, accounting for 60.84% of the global PTFE production capacity.
